Biography

Jimmy Lydon's acting career first began when he was just 16 years old. Lydon began his acting career with roles in such films as "Back Door to Heaven" (1939), the drama "Little Men" (1940) with Kay Francis and the comedy "Henry Aldrich For President" (1941) with Charles Smith. He also appeared in the adventure "Aerial Gunner" (1943) with Richard Arlen, the Charles Smith comedy "Henry Aldrich Swings It" (1943) and the comedy "The Town Went Wild" (1944) with Freddie Bartholomew. His film career continued throughout the forties and the fifties in productions like the dramatic adaptation "The Time of Your Life" (1948) with James Cagney, "Bad Boy" (1949) and the Dan Dailey comedy "When Willie Comes Marching Home" (1950). He also appeared in the Ingrid Bergman dramatic adaptation "Joan of Arc" (1950). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Robert Mitchum comedy "The Last Time I Saw Archie" (1961), "Death of a Gunfighter" (1969) and "Scandalous John" (1971) with Brian Keith. He also appeared in "Vigilante Force" (1976). Lydon more recently appeared in "Peter Lundy and the Medicine Hat Stallion" (NBC, 1977-78).
